Medicare  does not provide coverage in Costa Rica. Except for Mexico, this applies to all countries. Your Medicare Supplement or Advantage plan may cover vacations, but not for actual residence in another country.

In Costa Rica, there are plans that handle VA paperwork for those with combat related injuries, disabled, or currently under TriCare. This leaves me out for VA coverage in Costa Rica.

Since I plan on living in Costa Rica on a permanent basis, I am dropping my Medicare coverage. There is no use paying for something that I cannot use. When I am in the USA, I am still covered by the VA.
